Glaus was a terrible signing anyway, i dunno why they brought him on. like Stripes said, Hinske is better hitting and defensively, so its dumb to sit him while Glaus is playing.

How far do you think Freeman is off Stripes?
Id like to see him go on a tear and make it to the bigs by August, but id say its next June-July.

I was just thinking the same thing, Glaus made an error tonight that lead to a run and struck out 4 times in 4 at bats. I agree Hinske has played well this spring and in his only at bat this season. I say put him in and bring up Freeman if necessary he is the future there

I think they are targetting Freeman to start next season. Although I really wouldn't mind them trying to put Hinske at 1B for a couple of years for some cushion.

Who do you guys think we will bring in to replace Bobby?
its a sad year, all ive known is Bobby Cox as the Braves manager.
i hate to see him go, it sucks man.

Will we go in-house, or try and hire someone out of the organization?

I have no clue at this time. I have been wondering that myself. Im not a big Joe Torre fan, but it would completely surprise me if he didn't land in ATL. With the money issues the Dodgers are facing, you could see them let Torre go if they don't perform well this year or if he leaves in general. Then, he comes back to ATL where he played at for so long, but I would rather have someone who can stay awhile if they work out.

Ned Yost or Freddie Gonzalez wouldnt surprise me either.

Freddie Gonzalez seems to be a logical choice, he is who I think winds up there.

Joe Torre would be great for one or two seasons, but we need someone for the long haul. its impossible to be successful changing managers every year.

Terry Pendleton is still the hitting coach, what about upgrading him?
I would like the move, I think it would be excellent. He knows the team, the town, the management, the younger guys, he knows how the Atlanta organization works and he knows hitting.

Pendleton is a strong possibility, and I wouldn't mind the move just because I am not a huge fan of him as a hitting coach. I think he would make a better manager personally. Too many of the Braves top hitters go outside of Pendleton for help.

I would like it, he is familiar with everything and there would be no accomodation period, he could come in and the team would suffer minor changes as compared to bringing in a new manager and the new guy implementing his system.
